Getting a good night’s sleep.
How do you sleep? Relaxed, and deep sleep? Or a fragmented, troubled sleep? However you get your beauty sleep, make sure you do at least manage to rest a few hours. Sleep plays an important role in your physical health. For example, sleep is involved in healing and repair of your heart and blood vessels. While you are sleeping , your body, also it’s ” covering”, your skin, gets rid of toxins and renews itself, besides a whole lot of other neurological actions. Here are a few tips to make your slumber worthwhile:
- Your bed is for sleeping or sex. Watching T.V. , studying, eating or doing anything else that should be done elsewhere, is just sabotaging a restful night. Of course read a few lines before going to sleep, but not the annual fiscal report!!
- Switch of electronic gadgets 30 minutes before going to sleep. The light emitted form Ipads, Iphone etc, are not conducive to a soothing sleep. Use a Kindle if you must.
- Keep the same waking up and bedtime hours. Don’t be extreme as it wreaks havoc with your body and mind.
- Do exercise regularly. Getting your body going, kicking off steam, is the best way to combat anxiety and depression, which cause uneasy sleeping patterns.
