The view from our room, unmissable!
I’m sorry I’ve not written for a while, I’ve been busy with personal matters and then there was THE parties!!
It promised to be an incredible weekend and it didn’t disappoint. The invitation came a few months ago, in the form of a video, more of a save the date. We were invited to Florence, to attend the 30th birthday party of Edgardo Osorio, the designer of the ultra-chic Aquazzura brand. The official hardcover, two party invite came later, all because a lot of prep was required. More on that later…
Arrival on wednesday, and soon another night out looms, an invitation to Eva Cavalli’s son’s 30th birthday in their Tuscan Villa the next evening. Let the celebrations begin!!
Table settings at the Cavalli garden party. I wore my 30’s vintage satin evening gown, old Y.S.L. sandals, Corto Moltedo clutch, and a sparkly jacket from El Corte Ingles.
A private tour of the Uffizi Museum and the Vasari Corridor, so fabulous!
The next day, Friday, was the evening of the Eccentric Jungle themed party. What that meant was anyone’s idea, definatively there would be lots of feathers and an excess of leopard print, but that’s not the way I chose to play it. I wore an amazingly crafted orange extremely mini dress by Alves/ Goncalves, a sort of brocade texture in the shape of birds and feathers. Accessorized of course with an exotic pair of Aquazzura heels in gold and coral.
My choices… My ultimate choice!
The invitees went all out as did the hosts, it was fabulously decorated, with dancers from Rajasthan and Africa, and many areas decorated in the jungle theme.
The hosts, Ricardo Figueiredo and Edgardo Osorio with Naty Abascal. My Maharajah. My perfectly feathered dress by Alves/Goncalves. In the Grotto with some feathered friends. My gorgeous friend, Gianno Gonçalves It was veritable jungle out there…
There were unicorns too!
The creativity of Pedro Reis. Party animals!! Being held up by the best! Party atmosphere. Wild party animals!
The next day was the Surrealist Ball, and I decided at the last minute to wear a dress that had belonged to my Grandmother. She had previously worn the dress in 19 and I felt it looked surreal with the awesome headpiece that Valentim Quaresma was creating for me!
The developing idea for my surrealist headpiece by Valentim Quaresma.
A master’s tools to make masterpieces.
The beautiful dress, very meaningful to me and my Grandmother in her dress.
Perfect accessories, vintage clutch and earrings. The magnificent three, (we sound like super-heroes)!! With the Indian dance troupe. Naty, her stunning dress and friends. Happy Birthday Edgardo! Bumping headpieces with Naty. Vanessa’s mother wore this same dress to the Rothschild Ball in Versailles in 1972. Nieves Alvarez, Tatiana Sorroko and I in our costumes.
Surrealist corners, and Eva Cavalli and I.
Me and my BFF.
Fascinating table decorations. One of the dining tables… Edgardo and his birthday cake!
And that’s all folks, just a huge thank-you to the Aquazzura Boys for their incredible hospitality, graciousness, and generosity!!!
