Inspirational greenery everywhere.
Last week I was lucky enough to participate, literally, in a flower arranging workshop with Albane and Luis, and hosted by INTROPIA, the cool contemporary Spanish fashion brand. It was held at this hip place called A Sociedade, a creative space for food and design lovers. The florist duo, from Kckliko, were very informative, funny, full of tips and new ideas for home ” flower arrangers” like me.
Albane and Luis, inspired gardeners, florists, gatherers, parents.
After a creative flora creation that just flowed from Albane’s green fingers, seemingly effortless, we were on our own. My gorgeous partner in crime, actress/ model Sonia Balaco had the task to construct a 360 flower arrangement encompassing the greenery and flowers available.
TIP #1 First pick your base, or bigger branches to create height or width.
Then after you’ve tried, and failed, to ” nail ” these larger bits of nature to a metal cushion, much harder than it looks!, the filling in of the actual arrangement is easier with your choice of flowers.
TIP #2 Choose harmonious colours that complement each other.
We were inspired by the F/W ’17 INTROPIA collection of soft, burgundy and creamy whites.
Moody whites served as an inspiration… Plum, red, burgundy, all fall’s favourite hues.
TIP #3 Trim all your branches and stems to make sure you’ve got a clean entry point to place your plants. This way they’ll not get tangled in each other.
Spoiled for choice!

TIP #4 Get your gear: a pair of shears or good scissors, make a wire mesh for wider vases, and get yourself a frog, ( the base with spikes?!) for easy placing.
– Do not use those green yucky sponges, they’re so bad for the environment and also disintegrate really quickly.
TIP #5 Choose the type of vase that goes with your lifestyle, not necessarily your decor, as mix-matching gives your home a contemporary image.

TIP #6 You don’t need to have perfect blooms for your arrangement, get creative and look for beautiful branches, with or without leaves, that might be lying on the street. Be unafraid, be bold.
TIP #7 Size does not matter! Little bunches of blossoms or greenery look just as fantastic.

Hope you can get some inspiration for the Christmas season,
