You either love them or not, and whether they’re a part of your style or not, this summer they are THE accessory to have and to hold! I’ve always loved a good basket, I love the feeling of freedom and countryside it evokes in me, that I’m at a wonderful outdoor market just piling good cheeses and fresh vegetables into it for a good meal later. Or that I’m going to spend a glorious day on the beach with a satisfying book, or that I’m walking through the tiny streets of St Tropez on my way to a café. Now that’s dreaming for you, but somehow that is what a basket creates for me, a feeling of insouciance, and I suppose we all get that from the bag we choose to carry. Whether it’s a logoed Gucci, or a discreet but $$$$ Hermès, we all shout out our preferences, status, (real or perceived) and our image for that day. Sorry for rambling on, but what your wear sends out sooo many signals… but that’s another post.
